(December 30, 1939 - August 13, 2014) It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of George James Groves, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, he slipped into eternal peace in the presence of his loving family and friends on August 13, 2014. George was a retired Pharmacist of Eastern Health and a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, M.Q.P Council. Predeceased by his parents George and Esther; brother Stephen; sisters Ina (Robert Byrne), Bertha (Anual Ellis), Marilyn (Ed Rumsey). Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories are his loving and devoted wife of 45 years Irene (Foley); sons Todd (Lisa), Shawn (Krista); daughter Renee (Ian Lilly); five grandchildren Spencer, Sydney, Maeghan, Erin and Jane; brothers Cel (Pat), Alex (Sharon), Ken (Penny); sisters Veronica (Patrick Walsh), Esther (Gerry Scoville), Anne Marie (Skip Hurley), Ruth (Pierre Rivard); brothers - in - law Frank (Bernice), Harold (Lila), Ron (Barb), Ben (Mary), Philip (Linda), Cyril (Mary), Felix (Pansy), Don (Goki Nagumo); sisters - in - law Lillian (Gilbert Chaytor), Millie (Kazu Tanaka), and Judy, as well many nieces and nephews, very special and devoted friends Tom and Brenda Frizzell, also a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Friday, August 15, 2014 and Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 18, 2014 from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Road at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
