Parker, Marian Carol - 82, Bible Hill, passed away, surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 12 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Marian was born in Brookfield, NS on June 18, 1932. She was a daughter of the late John and Orpha (Bates) Lindsay. Marian graduated from Brookfield High School and Success Business College, Truro. She was last employed as a creative writer at CKCL Radio, Truro. She also published two books, one on memories of life growing up in the 30's and 40's and another on the history of Hilden. Marian was active in church activities, teaching Sunday school and being a member of Session. She is survived by her husband, Ernest; daughters, Carol (Gene) Stuart, Halifax, Linda (Keith) Stuart, Malagash; Helen (Steve) Whalen, Hartland, NB; sons, John Stuart, Dartmouth, James (Sharon) Stuart, Brookfield, Fred (Marg) Stuart, Hamilton, ON, Evan (Marg) Stuart, Truro, Allan (Mary) Stuart, Stewiacke; step-children, Larry (Cathy Neary) Parker, Bedford and Debbie (Dave) MacDonald, Crowes Mills; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Lindsay, Dartmouth; sisters-in-law, Roberta Lindsay, Brookfield, Anne Lindsay, Alberta. Marian was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Arthur and Warren; her first husband, Martin Stuart; step-daughter, Linda MacGillivray. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16 with memorial service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, both from Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Donna Lawrence officiating. Interment will be in Brookfield Eastside Cemetery. Family flowers only.
