Lorneville - Sadly, the family of Kenneth Ernest Siddall of Lorneville, NS announce his passing at the Gables Lodge, Amherst on Tuesday, August, 12, 2014 two weeks before his 88th birthday. Born in Lorneville, Ken was a son of the late Ernest and Mary (Oulton) Siddall.
Ken was a lifelong member of the Lorneville United Church.
A well respected dairy farmer, Ken was the fifth generation to live on his farm where he dedicated his life to raising purebred Holsteins. At retirement, he enjoyed raising show goats as well as llamas. Ken loved drives in the country and to visit with his friends and family. Everyone will remember his wink and the twinkle in his eye.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Jean Elizabeth (Newcombe), of Lorneville; daughters, Elaine (Ernest) Fage, Hastings, NS, Pauline (Francis) Verstraten, Lorneville, NS, Brenda (Alan) McGee, Barrie, ON, and Ruth (Scott) Murray, Moncton, NB; 10 grandchildren, Jillian (Erica), Isaac (Cecille) and Adam Fage, Christiane, Robert and Teresa Verstraten, Andrew and Jack McGee, John David and Calum Murray; 3 great grandchildren, Orion, Kaya and Caden Fage, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by sisters Jean (Walter) Amos, Viva (Bernie) Wilson and Della Siddall.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst, (902-667-8777). Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Friday, August 15, 2014. A funeral service for Ken will be held from the Lorneville United Church on Saturday at 2 pm. Reception to follow at the church. Burial will be held in the Lorneville Cemetery.
At the request of the family, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Lorneville United Church.
