February 21st 1917- August 12th, 2014 Passed away in Barrie, Ontario at Royal Victoria Regional Hospital, on August 12, 2014, at the age of 97 years, while visiting family: bon vivant and free spirit Christie Blundon (Christina Maude Lake), of St. John's, originally of Fortune. Beloved mother of Jeanette (Greg Coombes), Christine (Ron Fitzgerald) and Joyce, of St. John's. Grandmother to Vanessa and Albert Coombes and Nelson Blundon-Fitzgerald. Predeceased by husband Moses Blundon, father Freeman Lake and mother Jennie Foote and brothers Bruce, Newton, and George, and sisters Dorothy Pleasance, Bertha Martinez, and Kay Taylor, and brother in law Clarence Roberts and sisters in law Evelyn Roberts and Mary Cox. Leaving sisters Jean Bugg, Blanche Hill, and Marjorie Townsend, and brothers Tom Lake and Don Lake and their families in Ontario and the U.S. As well, she will be missed by numerous other relatives and friends throughout Canada and the U.S. Cremation has taken place, visitation will be held on Monday, August 18th, 2014 from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M., Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday 9:00 A.M. until time of service. A Memorial Service will be held, on Wednesday August 20, 2014, from the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 11 A.M. In Lieu of flowers Memorial donation may be made to, Cochrane Street United Church.
