It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of James Klinger, 85, of New Waterford on Aug.15, 2014 at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Rudy and Emmaline 'Emma' (Livingstone) Klinger.
James was a member of the Parish Church of St. Leonard, New Waterford. He was employed with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission for 35 years until his retirement. James enjoyed smoking his pipe and was fond of animals, namely German Shepherds. He also had an interest in collecting model cars and in later years, feeding birds.
Surviving are wife, Lucy (Butler); daughter, Mary Lou, Halifax; sons Rudy, Dartmouth, Bruce (Kimberly), Halifax, Ken (Colleen), Toronto, Richard (Katie Williamson), Nesbitt, Manitoba; grandchildren, Adam, Cameron and Keelin; great-granddaughter, Marlee Anne; many nieces and nephews and special niece, Wendy.
Besides his parents, James was predeceased by twin daughters Noel and Michelle, in infancy; grandson Conlan; brothers Alex, in infancy, and Arthur; sisters Mary Morash and Theresa Maxwell.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, from 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave., with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be Mount Carmel Cemetery.
