ESTEY, INEZ EVELYN (JOHNSTON) - The passing of Inez Evelyn (Johnston) Estey, wife of the late Dell R. Estey, occurred on Sunday morning, August 17, 2014 at Hanwell, NB. Born on March 8, 1917 in Lower Durham, NB, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Maude) Johnston. Inez lived her entire life in the Durham community, where she raised her family of three; taught at numerous schools and took an active part in community affairs. Inez is survived by her two daughters, Betty Estey of Fredericton, NB and Sharon Stewart (Bob) of Hanwell, NB; daughter-in-law, Sandra Estey; eight grandchildren, Tony McKay (Cindy), Steve Mckay, Tim McKay (Michelle), David Estey (Nokkaew), Monty Estey (Lya), Rob Stewart, Mitch Stewart (Lucia) and Rhonda Kilburn (Matthew); ten great-grandchildren, who always put a smile on her face; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a dear son, Wayne and grandson, Greg; her brother and sister in law, Maurice and Mary Johnston; sister, Freda Johnston; sister and brother in law, Margaret and Allen Henderson; brother and sister in law, James and Bernice Johnston; brothers and sisters in law, Maurice and Allie Pond, Dow and Florence Abernethy, Dean Estey, Donald and Doris Estey; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Serenity Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 1 pm with Pastor Jeff Crabtree officiating. Interment will take place in Upper Durham Cemetery.
