Green's Harbour Volunteer Fire Department (30 years). Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, on Saturday August 16th, Roy Pitcher of Hopeall, aged 66 years. Pre-deceased by parents; Albert and Clara Pitcher, parents in-law; Annie and Baxter Crocker. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, to celebrate his life with thanksgiving are, his loving and devoted wife; Mildred, son; Mark, five sisters; Marjorie March, Marie Pitcher, Joyce Cranford, Florence Pike (John), and Phyllis Legge (Stewart), two brothers; Nelson Pitcher and Elwood, sister in-law; Evelyn Chislett. Roy is also lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was a devoted member of First United Church, and served as caretaker for twenty-one years. He served on various boards of the Church, until the time of his illness four years ago. Roy was also actively involved in many community activities. Resting at First United Church, Hopeall, with visitation on Sunday August 17th, 3:00 pm until time of funeral. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 19th, from First United Church Hopeall at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at First United Church Cemetery, Hopeall. As an expression of sympathy donations in Roy's memory may be made to First United Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Dildo.
