The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with family by her side, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, of MaryAnn MacDonald (nee Balonis), beloved wife of Gerard MacDonald, of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 69.
MaryAnn was the loving mother of Kevin MacDonald (Kim) and Brian MacDonald of South Weymouth, MA, and Cheryl Tweel (Tony) of Millcove, P.E.I.; grandmother of Amanda Hutchinson and Kristy and Georgianna MacDonald; Ashley and Matthew MacDonald; and Benjamin, Jeremy and Andrew Boyle, and Gabriella MacNevin. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles and John Balonis.
MaryAnn was predeceased by her father, Bernie Balonis; her loving stepfather, Charles Hayes and her mother, Dorothy Hayes; two grandchildren, Baby Brian and Ryan MacDonald; and her sister-in-law, Joan Balonis.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, August 18, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. Celebration of funeral mass will take place at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Andrews Cemetery, Mount Stewart, at 1:30 p.m.
