Helen E. Swaney
October 1, 1922 – August 16, 2014
It is with sadness that we announce Helen’s passing at 91 years of age. Predeceased by her parents Leopold and Elizabeth Jacobs; sisters Rose, Tillie, and Elsie; brothers Bill, Walter, and Arthur, Helen is survived by her son Lyle (Eileen) of Nipawin, SK; as well as several nieces and nephews. Helen was born in the Hodgeville district. She was a kind and gentle soul who would help anyone. She married Charles H. Swaney of the Vanguard district on November 13, 1944. Son Lyle was born December 12, 1950. They farmed together until moving to Moose Jaw in 1967 where they continued to work and eventually retire. Helen loved cooking, gardening, as well as entertaining and visiting with friends and family. She will be missed and remembered by all. A private service and interment will be held at a later date.
