Rita “Muddy” Wilson, 81 - New Victoria / Sydney

It is with saddened hearts, that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Rita peacefully passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Sunday August 17, 2014, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Reserve Mines she was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Hattie (McPherson) Curry.
Rita along with her husband Jack, lived, worked and raised their family in London, Ontario, for over 35 years. Rita will be fondly remembered by her many friends and neighbors in both Ontario and Cape Breton.
Rita will be sadly missed by her loving husband Jack; daughter Cheryl (Les) Hartridge, London, Ontario, son John (Phyllis) Wilson, Calgary, Alberta; cherished grandchildren Mackenzie, Eli and Jesse; sisters Christine MacNeil, Reserve Mines, Barbara Mason, Whitehorse. Rita will also be warmly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Marilyn MacDonald “Sis”; brothers, Lloyd, Michael, Gordon and John.
In keeping with Rita’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
Memorial donation in Rita’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
At this time, we, Rita’s family wishes to thank Colleen Dolhanty, for her dedicated and loving support showed to Mom, particularly over the past few months and a very special thank you to Dr. Rawal and the nursing staff of the palliative care unit.
