WOLTERS, PETER ANDREW - With sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Peter Andrew Wolters, in his 53rd year, beloved husband of Frances Geraldina (Vankampen), which occurred on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Fredericton, NB. Born on December 12, 1961 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Ann (de Klerk) and the late Pieter Wolters. Peter was a member of the Fredericton Christian Reformed Church, where he acted over the years in the roles of Elder and Deacon, on the Booster (social) Committee, and in various youth programs including Teen Club and Cadets. He was the Director of Finance and Human Resources for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick for over 20 years in his career as a Chartered Accountant. Peter was also active in the Financial Management Institute as both a former president of the local chapter and as a former president of the national board. He was a ball hockey enthusiast, had a love of travel to warm locations, and a passion for his grandkids. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his two daughters and their families, Andrea (Jeff) MacDonald and their daughters Caitlin and Gwendolyn and Krista (Ian) Groen and their daughters Carlee and Emma. Peter is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara (Ed) Wesselius, Nettie (Glen) Pye, Rick (Sam) Wolters, Ben (Joy) Wolters, Annie (Kevin) Smith, Sid Wolters, Jennifer (Burt) Foster, and Sheryl Wolters; and many well-loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Fredericton Christian Reformed Church, 121 McAdam Avenue on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm and 5 to 7pm. The Funeral Service will take place at the Fredericton Christian Reformed Church on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Harold Winter officiating. The service will be followed by fellowship time with friends and family. Interment will take place in the Pickard Merrithew Cemetery, Keswick, NB.
