Beatrice Chabot

Beatrice Joyce Chabot (née Stevenson) was born November 23, 1941 in Viceroy, SK. She is the eldest daughter of John and Elizabeth Stevenson (née Jackson). Beatrice grew up on her parents’ farm near Readlyn, SK until 1952, when her family moved to Assiniboia. After graduating from Assiniboia High School in 1959, she moved to Moose Jaw to complete two years of training in radiation technology at Providence Hospital. She then went on to work as an x-ray technician in Calgary, Ottawa, and Edmonton. During this time, she made many friends and travelled extensively throughout North America on vacations. In 1967, Beatrice met and fell in love with Achille Chabot; they married in 1969. They had two children together, Jean-Pierre and Catherine. Over the next 22 years, their family lived in many communities in western Canada. In 1991, Beatrice moved back to Moose Jaw to be close to her mother. She loved this community and its residents and lived there until her passing on August 15, 2014.
Beatrice is survived by her sister Diane (Claude), her nephews Gerald (Debbie) and Michael (Tracy), and her grandnephews; her son Jean-Pierre (Claudette) and her grandchildren, André, Alejandra, Cheyenne, Anthony, Joseph, and Isabella; her daughter Cathy (Rasmus); and many cousins. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Wednesday August 20, 2014 at 11:00 am. Reverend Lynette Miller will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Epilepsy Canada, 102A – 2505 11th Ave, Regina, S4P 0K6 or the Canadian Mental Health Association, Room 324, 650 Coteau St. W., Moose Jaw, S6H 5E6.
