BOURGEOIS, VALERIE J - 1919 - 2014 - Valerie J. Bourgeois, 95, of Villa du Repos, Moncton, formerly of Albenie Street, Dieppe, NB, passed away on Thursday, August 21st 2014, at his residence. Born in Memramcook, NB, he was the son of the late Camille and the late Irène (née: LeBlanc) Bourgeois. Mr. Bourgeois was a WW II veteran; had retired from Canada Post but was recognized as a jack of all trades. An avid musician, he was especially proud of the accomplishments of his musical family; was also valued for his violin making and accordion repair abilities. He was a member of the Club D’Age d’Or de Dieppe and Sainte-Thérèse parish.
He is survived by three daughters: Rose-Irene (Bernard) Cormier of Dieppe, Francine (Greg) Lund of McQuade and Pauline (Danny) Arsenault of Moncton; six sons: Romeo (Linda), Bernard (Irene) and Eugene (Kim), all three of Dieppe, Leonard (Linda), Francis and Zoel (Nicole), all three of Moncton; two sisters: Maria (late Gerard) Auger of Montreal, QC and Rose-Irene (late Leonard) LeBlanc of Dieppe; one brother, Emile Bourgeois of Miramichi; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (née: Gaudet) in 2013; one sister, Adrienne; one brother, Aurèle; one brother & sister-in-law: Wilfred & Elise Gaudet, and also by one daughter-in-law, Claire.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901) on Monday from noon until time of departure. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Monday, August 25th, 2014 at 3 pm. Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donation to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
