It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Helen MacIsaac on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Prosperity, Alta., she was the daughter of the late Antonius and Antonina (Sral) Zembal.
Helen moved to Sydney when she married the love of her life Lawrence ‘Larry’. Larry and Helen retired to Beaver Cove in 1987, where her love of gardening flourished.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Anna (Craig Bradshaw), Halifax; son, Lawrence, Calgary; brothers, Frank (Sue), Albert and John (Lydia); granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Bradshaw; sister-in-law, Elsie Zembal; many nieces and nephews and Eli Sagasta, who Helen called her Spanish daughter.
Helen was predeceased by brother, Stanley; sister, Mary (Homer) Sawchuck; sister in law, Mildred ‘Millie’ Zembal.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26 with funeral mass 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 both from St. Barra Church, Christmas Island. Rev. Paul Abbass will officiate. A reception will follow in the Christmas Island Firehall.
