It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of their beloved brother, Arthur James at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014.
Born in Scotchtown, he was the son of the late Neil and Lillian (Stachowiak) James.
Arthur was a former resident of the Braemore Home, Sydney and recently The Cove Guest Home, Sydney.
Arthur is survived by one brother, Fr. Vince James – OMI,Fraser Lake, B.C. and by his sister, Johanna (Jim) Phielps, Ohio-USA and several cousins including, Mary Anne MacDougall, Sydney, N.S., Lawrence and Pauline MacDougall, New Waterford, Billy Odo, Scotchtown and Rosina, Toronto.
Arthur was predeceased by a sister, Lucinda MacMullin.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Raymond Huntley at St. Leonard’s Church, Mount Carmel Avenue, New Waterford at 10 a.m., Wednesday. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, River Ryan.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford.
