Cecil in his younger years worked on the Colpitts farm in Colpitts Settlement. They were involved in the fox industry at that time. He also met his future wife Millie there. His next job took him to the CNR in Moncton where he retired as a Locomotive Engineer in 1985, after 44 years of service. Cecil was also a life time member of the Harmony Lodge in Salisbury N.B. He remained a Licenced Guide in N.B. since May, 1949. He was a quiet and gentle man who loved the outdoors and his beautiful cottage in Elgin. Cecil is survived by his son Clinton (Bonnie) of Quispamsis, grandchildren Krista MacMillan (Steve), Kelly Madore (Jeff), great-grandchildren Matthew MacMillan, Sarah MacMillan and Benjamin Turnbull. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth, Roy, and sister Peggy Hopper. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mildred, brothers Weldon, Lorne, Dougie and sisters Maggie, Inez, and Pauline. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Cecil’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Internment will take place at the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens in Moncton, N.B. For those who wish, donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s hospital Foundation or Charity of your choice.
