Kenneth (Ken) Walter MacLeod was born January 24, 1936 in Lorne Valley, Prince Edward Island to Malcolm McLeod and Annie Palmer. He was the youngest of seven children. Ken was the loving husband of Shirley and the proud father of Brent, Malcolm (Heather), Peter (Kelly) and Jonathan (Samantha). He loved all of his grandchildren Kira (Scott) Schmidt, Conner, Alex, Erik, Nikolas, Marcus and Zoe. His step-grandchildren also meant a lot to him Ryan (Charlene), Liam (Olga), Erin, Morgan, Blake and Spencer. Ken is survived by his sister Dorthy Markell, his brother Palmer (Shirley), Sisters-in-law Sylvia Taylor and Debbie (Allan) MacDonald. He was predeceased by his father Malcolm, Mother Annie, Brothers Peter (Glenda) and Hughie (Reta) and his sisters Isabel (Alex) MacDougall, Terry (Hec) Trotter, his sisters-in-law Gwen MacLeod and Edna MacLeod, his cherished niece Kay Gillis and his Grand-nephew Aaron Coffin.
The family would like to thank his family physician, Dr. Tkalych and his nurses, his wonderful Cancer doctor Dr. Michelle Geddes and her team at the Tom Baker Center as well as the Paramedics who transported him to South Calgary Health Center, the Emergency room staff and his ICU team for their care and compassion.
Funeral to be held 2:00 PM Saturday September 6, 2014 at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, Alberta. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
