Emery "Blackie" LeBlanc

LeBLANC, EMERY "BLACKIE" - Emery “Blackie” LeBlanc, 93, of the Moncton Veteran’s Health Centre passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Centre following a lengthy illness. Born January 20, 1921 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Zoêl and Mélina (DesRoches) LeBlanc. He was employed with Day & Ross prior to his retirement. Blackie also enjoyed playing his mouth organ, cards, hunting and spending time with his friends and family. He was also a veteran of W.W. 2 with the Carlton York Regiment and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6. He is survived by his five children: Pauline Leger (Bob), Annette Coates (Ken), Ronald (Caroline), Louise Thompson (David) and Roger (Jeannine); seven grandchildren: Billy, Tracey, Rachel, Serge, Nathan, Jennifer, and Emily; four great-grandchildren: Devon, Jake, Isabelle, and Eric; a sister, Alice Daigle; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Eveline née Leger; daughter-in-law Carolyn; a brother Georges; two sisters: Beatrice and Rita.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated at the Frenette Funeral Centre on Friday September 5 at 10 am. A reception at the Centre will follow. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. The Veterans will conduct a service of remembrance at the Centre Thursday Evening at 7 pm.
