TINGLEY, LINDA MAE (nee DIXON) - 1945 - 2014 - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda Tingley, loving wife of 49 years to Harley Tingley, announce her passing on September 3, 2014 at the Kings Way Care Center in Quispamsis, NB. Born In Alma on November 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Madge (Kelly) and Lester Dixon. Linda was a school teacher for 33 years, teaching at Alma Consolidated and Riverside Consolidated. In her retirement, Linda looked after her two oldest granddaughters. She loved baking, reading and traveling, but most of all, she loved her family and was always there for them. In addition to her husband Harley, Linda is survived by daughters Lorna Steeves of Saint John, Alanna (Erin) McInerney of Quispamsis, Granddaughters Emma, Olivia and Catherine. She is also survived by sisters, Donna Pelan of Barrie Ontario, Connie Rossiter (Al) of Riverside-Albert, Greta Dixon of Fredericton, friend Judy White, and many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Norman Dixon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). A memorial service will be held at the Alma United Church on September 20th at 2pm and interment will be at Harvey Bayview Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Kings Way Care Center, Harvey Bayview Cemetery Fund, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
