PLYMOUTH – Michael Thomas “Mickey” Devane, age 63, of Plymouth, NS, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014.
Mike is survived by his loving family and caregivers at his home on MacBeth Road; brothers: Timothy (Marie) Devane, New Glasgow; Arthur (Eileen) Worth, Lantz; Maurice Devane (Nancy), Ontario; Sterling Worth (Georgie), Alberta.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Myrtle Devane, his sisters: Colleen Devane and Phyllis Gill; brothers: Allison Worth and Darrell Worth.
Michael was known for his gentle and quiet disposition, his sense of humor and his love of Irish music. He attended Summer Street Industries where he enjoyed his work for 17 years prior to his retirement. During his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling, dancing, parties and vacationing at summer camp. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Michael was able to achieve 63 wonderful years, thanks to the love and care he received from the dedicated and exceptional caregivers and counsellors at his home on MacBeth Road. Special thanks to Dr. T. Park; Marie Walker, Care Coordinator, Dept. of Community Services and VON Pictou County.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass 10 a.m. Monday in Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
