HANSEN, RONALD HUBERT - Peacefully with his family by his side, Ron in his 78th year, passed away in the early morning hours of September 7, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Beloved husband for 53 years of Donna (nee Minogue) and cherished father of Todd Hansen (Leslie) and Colin Hansen. Loving grandfather of Sarah Hansen and Robert Hansen. Predeceased by his parents, Doris and Hubert, he will be missed by brother Ralph (Dorothy deceased), his sisters-in-law Judy (Reg) Carson and Kim (Greg) Mann and several nieces and nephews. After a career spanning 38 years with the Royal Bank serving in various positions in New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario he retired in 1992 to pursue his love of boating and fishing, travelling extensively with his wife, the love of his life, and spending time with family and friends. Our heartfelt thanks to his Care Team in the Behavioural Unit, Yvonne Terrace, St. Peter’s Hospital for their care and compassion right up to the moment of his passing.
The family will receive friends at DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME - ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster, ON, L9G 2C2, on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or St. Peter’s Hospital, 88 Maplewood Avenue, Hamilton.
