BRIGGS, G. LOUISE - It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of G. Louise Briggs on September 10, 2014 with loving family at her side at Bobby's Hope House. Louise was the wife of the late J. Leonard Briggs. She was born March 25, 1934 to the late Samuel and Georgie (King) Spragg. She is survived by her last remaining brother-in-law Ken Briggs; sisters, Velma (Alfred) Attoe and Joan (Irason) Ross; her children Cindy (Spencer) Belyea and Stephen (Keira) Briggs; grandchildren Christopher (Laura) Watson, Harry and Mary Louise Belyea, Kyle and Jaisy Ball and Summer Briggs; great-granddaughter Monica Watson; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Spragg, sister Sophia Arbeau and infant brother Arthur Spragg. In her earlier years she worked for Brooke Bond Tea Co., retiring to become a mother and homemaker. After Len retired they spent many happy years travelling across Canada and Europe. She was an active member of Portland United Church, the UCW and Portland Quilters Guild. She was also a past executive member of the Federal Superannuates and of Portland Legion Branch #64. Louise was a member of the Millidgeville Seniors and her Tuesday afternoon Rumolli group. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Portland United Church or a charity of the donor's choice. She wanted it known that she "fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith".
Visitation will be Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Portland United Church, Newport Crescent. Funeral service, Monday at 11 a.m. followed by reception at Portland United Church; interment to follow at Oceanview's Garden of Gesthemane.
