SCOTT, MARVEN ROY - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional, Saint John, NB on September 16, 2014, Mr. Marven Roy Scott, beloved husband to Tracy Lee (Haggerty) Scott of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born at St. Stephen, NB on June 20, 1945, he was a son of the late Lenward and Alberta "Betty" (McLaughlin) Scott. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife Tracy, Marven is survived by his son Duane (Susan) Scott of Pennfield, NB; daughters: Trudy (Randy) Mahar of Kelowna, BC and Amanda Scott (Jesse Mercer) of Edmonton, AB; his grandchildren: Krysten (Pat) McShane, Matthew and Jessica Scott, Fallon and Alexandra Mahar; great-grandchildren: Camden and Beckett; his sister, Carol Hatt and sister-in-law, Yvette Scott, both of St. George and father-in-law, Ernest Haggerty of Blacks Harbour, NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Marven was predeceased by his first wife, Brenda, a daughter, Florence, his brother, Larry and brother-in-law, Eddie Hatt. Prior to his retirement, Marven worked for more than 50 years for Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing or just being in the outdoors. Marven also enjoyed woodworking, playing a good game of cards, socializing with his numerous friends and spending time with family. He will be sadly missed.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. In keeping with Marven's wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Marven's life will be held at the Stella Maris Community Hall, Blacks Harbour NB on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 3 to 7pm. Donations in Marven's memory to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
