BULLERWELL, Norman Archibald “Archie” – age 90, of Veterans Place in Yarmouth, passed away at Veterans Place on September 16, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., N.S. he was a son to the late Frederick and Lillian (Tinkham) Bullerwell. Archie enlisted in WWII from 1943 to 1946. He served in Europe where he met his wife Elise Helena in Germany. After the war he went back overseas to help with the clean up. In 1953 he re-enlisted as a cook and worked in Clinton Ontario and Greenwood Nova Scotia until he retired in 1974 as a Master Corporal. In his spare time he loved to garden and in his younger years he won many trophies in golfing and bowling. Archie was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was predeceased by his loving wife Elise in 2002. Besides his parents and wife, Archie was predeceased by brothers, Irvine and Alfred; step sisters, Anita Flanignan and Marion Spricer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Friday, September 19, 2014 from 1-2 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Eric Whitehouse officiated. Interment followed in Brooklyn Cemetery.
