Ronald Frederick 'Ronnie' Dupe

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of our brother and father Ronald Frederick Dupe on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 after a long illness at Taigh Solas Nursing Home, North Sydney.
Ronnie was born on July 29, 1935 to parents, the late James and Ellen (Nellie Power) Dupe.
Ronnie is survived by his siblings, Doug (Ruth), Albert (Shirley), Margaret (Anthony) DeGiobbi and Anna; children, Sharon Erb, Paula Oliver, Joey, Ronnie, Bradley Ransom and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by daughter, Maggie Currie, Sydney and his brother-in-law, Greg McDougall, USA.
Ronnie worked in the coal mines in his younger years and was in the army in 1958 for a few years. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar which he did until a month ago and in his younger years he kept homing pigeons.
Ronnie was predeceased by his parents and his sons, Paul and Kevin; brothers, Murdoch (wife Frances 'Cookie'), Joseph (wife Lois) and James in infancy and a sister, Vera MacDougall.
At Ronnie's request there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. Funeral mass of celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford.
