Peacefully at Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, with family at her side, on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, of Mary Minnie (Walsh) Blacquiere, wife of the late David Walsh, father of her children, and the late Wilfred Blacquiere, formerly of Boswell Crescent, Summerside, aged 90 years. Born in Brae, she was the daughter of the late George and Angelina Arsenault. Survived by her daughter Arlene (Phil) Woodford, Summerside; sons Jack (Patricia), Moncton, N.B.; Wendell, Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren Danielle, Donna, Kendell, John and Mike DesRoche; nine great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews in P.E.I. and N.B. Minnie was the last surviving member of her family. Predeceased by her daughter Shirley DesRoche and a daughter in infancy; sisters Nora Chandler and Mabel Gallant; and brothers Raymond, Leo, Eddie, Syl, Francis and Tommy Arsenault. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside.
