Rafuse – Kenneth Donald – 86, of Waterville, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 23rd, 2014 at Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Waterville, he was a son of the late Ard Donald and Jessie (Salsman) Rafuse. Kenneth was a hard working man. He trained in the Army Militia Reserves. He spent his life farming, which he loved. Ken was heavily involved in his community. He was a life member of Waterville Baptist Church, involved in many of its groups; he was a choir member, Sunday School Superintendent and became a Deacon of the church. He was a Scout leader, a member of the Berwick Cemetery Committee, Waterville Recreation Club (Pony Pulls). Ken was well known for singing at many weddings and funerals throughout the Valley. He was a member of several Quartets, (Valley Four & Me, and Kings Ambassadors). Ken will be remembered for his sense of humour and as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his son, Paul (Ivy) Rafuse, Waterville; daughter, Betty (John) Lutz, Lake Paul; step-daughter, Edith (Lawrence DeAdder) Lloyd, Grand Pre; brother, Harold Rafuse, Waterville; sisters, Lorraine Toole, Waterville, Lillian (Amos “Bud”) Ewing, Waterville; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Joel Franklin) Steeves, Darcy (Danielle) Rafuse, Kaisa Morrison, Alex Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Erin (Dom) Arsenault, Amanda (Shawn) Skinner, Aimee Neil; great grandchildren, Madisyn , Rhyley, Cohen, Gracie, Kailiegh & Jessie; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by his first wife, (Eunice Estabrooks); second wife, Marquerite (Lloyd-Best). Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday September 25th at Serenity Lindsay Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick (902-538-9900). Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. Friday September 26th at Waterville Baptist Church, 1243 Mill St., Waterville. Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Interment followed at Berwick Cemetery.
