MICHAUD, EPHREM - Ephrem Michaud, 73, of Saint-Paul, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on May 10, 1941 in Grand Falls, he was the son of the late Onile and Mariane (Rossignol) Michaud. Ephrem was a forest ranger for 17 years. He was a successful owner of a hunting outfitters business for many years. Upon retirement, he worked as a commissionaire for the federal government. He was a fourth degree member with the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by six children: Marcel Michaud of Fredericton, Lyne Peterson (Brian) of Codys, Robert Michaud of London, ON, Francine Michaud of Moncton, Lise Michaud-Carrière (Marc) of Oromocto and Philipp “Nino” Michaud of Saint-Paul; five grandchildren: Cindy, Annik, Alex, Cassidy and Grace; 11 sisters and brothers: Judith, Anne-Marie, Marilyn, Huguette, Mark, Michel, Mario, Gilles, Hermel, Harvey and Jean-Guy; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Edwina, and five brothers: Marven, Vernon, Yvan, Maurice and Guildor.
Upon request, there will be no prior visitation. A public funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Paul Roman Catholic Church in Saint-Paul on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 3:30 pm. In memory of Ephrem, a financial donation would be appreciated and can be made as of Monday, October 6th, to his 14 year old son’s trust fund at the Caisse populaire on St-George Street in Moncton, under Philip Michaud, c/o Francine Michaud. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed, especially by his 14 year old son, three daughters and four granddaughters. We know you would be here today if heaven wasn’t so far away.
