On Friday, September 26, 2014 after a year and a half long battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we announce the passing, with his loved ones at his side, of our husband, father and grandfather, Robert (Willie) Wilson, of Cochrane, AB.
Willie was born in Vancouver, growing up in Kamloops, before joining the Airforce in 1967. He spent twenty-five years in the Military, spending most of his career in Moose Jaw, with a tour in Germany and then one in Edmonton. After retiring from the Military he moved to Cochrane, AB where he found employment with IRIS an NDT firm in Calgary. Exploring the back country with his wife and dogs, and motorcycling with friends were among his greatest passions.
Willie is survived by his wife Debbie and their daughter Tamara, son-in-law Devon and grandsons Connor and Ryker Martin. He is also survived by brother-in-law Greg Buchanan, his wife Mary and their family.
An open house “Celebration of Willie’s Life” will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2014 at Willie’s home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
