Gladys McEachern, 87 years of age, of Amherst, formerly of River Hebert passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014. Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd & Edith (Berry) Smith.Gladys liked to crochet fancy work. She enjoyed knitting , painting and taking long walks and shopping.Gladys spent many years under the kind care of nursing homes in Pugwash, Victoria Manor and Gables Lodge in Amherst.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Gerald (Mable); daughter Faye Thibodeau; grandchildren, Jillian McEachern, Thomas & Sue Ann Thibodeau; sisters, Thelma Burbine, Clara White, Elaine Smith, Fern Burbine (Ron); brother, Lloyd "Bubby" Smith; brother in law, Lionel Edwards; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bedford; infant son at birth, sisters Blanche Gates, Alvina Jollymore, Donnie Edwards; son in law, Tom Thibodeau and several brother in laws.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert. Visiting hours will be held at Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert, on Tuesday , September 30, 2014 from 12:30pm- 2:00pm with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial to take place in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert East.
