SPRACKLIN, S/SGT (RETIRED) JAMES LLOYD - 1935 - 2014 - With deep sadness, the family of J. Lloyd Spracklin announces his passing at home in Ottawa on September 24, 2014 after a brief illness with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 54 years, Lorraine (Perry), his daughter Kim Haines (Eddy), his son Kevin (Carol) and two beloved grandchildren, Catherine and Steven Haines. Lloyd was the eldest son of Aleck and Edith Spracklin of Newfoundland. He is also survived by sisters Elizabeth Houghton (Charles) and Bernice Spracklin and brothers Harold (Marie), Douglas, and Cyril (Elaine). He was predeceased by infant brother Gordon and youngest brother Robert. Also to mourn his passing is Lorraine’s brother Arthur Perry (Joyce), sister Lorna Attia (Youssry) and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was a proud and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for over 37 years and served in many detachments in New Brunswick with the majority of his career at Headquarters in Ottawa.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:30. A reception to follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment will be at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Arthritis Society.
