Massé: Jeanne Louise Massé (née Jacquin) passed away peacefully on September 28, 2014 at the age of 82 with her family by her side. Prayer Service was held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass was held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Guy Amédée Ainemon officiating. The Interment Service took place at Notre Dame Parish Cemetery. Jeanne is survived by her husband Raymond; children Diane (Leon) Cyrenne, Therese, Marcel (Claudette), Louis (Shirley), Roland (Tammy), Claude (Bonita), Rita (Roland) Cyrenne, Gilles (Patricia), 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, brother Paul (Leona) Jacquin, In-Iaws: Father Arthur Massé, Paul (Helénè), Jeannine (Peter) Yakymyk, Monique Brisebois, René (Eva) and many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents Camille and Georgine Jacquin, brother André Jacquin, brother-in-law Marcel Brisebois and great-grandaughter Christina Cyrenne. Jeanne was born and raised on a farm near Billimun. She married Raymond on October 27, 1952 and they farmed near Ferland, then moved to Fir Mountain to manage the Co-op store. In 1955 they purchased a farm near Aneroid which they farmed unti1 1991. In 1966 they built a new home in Ponteix. While raising her children, Jeanne worked at the hospital and later cooked at the Manor. Weekends and summers were spent driving the red station wagon to the farm with 8 children packed in the back. Jeanne enjoyed travelling and especially loved trips to France to visit relatives. They enjoyed life as "snowbirds" in Mesa, Arizona, especially the frequent "happy hours". They enjoyed travelling to visit their children and grandchildren in several provinces. Jeanne enjoyed her Tuesday coffee with the girls and occasional Wednesday card games. She was an avid reader and loved making puzzles. Grandma spent several hours playing games with her grandchildren and teaching granddaughters to crochet. Jeanne was an active member of the CWL, past member of the Royal Purple and ladies of the parish. Jeanne spent many hours helping with the Ponteix history book.
