It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father Archie Protz on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the age of 73 years. My father was predeceased by his parents Mary and Steve Protz. He is survived by his son Roger; daughter Karla; brother Clarence (Sharon); nephew Trevor (Chelsey), Nancy, as well as several cousins and many good friends. My father was a devoted, loving father who embraced life and was adored by everyone who met him. He loved golfing, farming, animals, wresting and hockey. Known for his sense of humour, big heart, and contagious laugh, my father’s wish was to remind us that "Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways shouting “Wow, what a ride!” A father is his son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love. Dad, thank you for being the best father a daughter could ever have. I will love you always!
