Marguerite Spinney

SPINNEY, MARGUERITE ANNIE -With sadness we announce the passing of our mother on October 6, 2014 at York Manor in Fredericton. Born in St. George, N.B. on December 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Abigail (Stewart) Waycott. She was predeceased by her loving husband Roy, her three brothers, Richard, Douglas and Edmund and her two sisters, Blanche (Hoyt) and Amy. She is survived by her four children, Roberta (Jacques Cadieux) of Ottawa, Tom (Nellie Johnson) of Lower Queensbury, Jill, (Gregory Thompson) of Dipper Harbour, and Juanita Barrett of Saint John; by one brother, James Waycott of Truro, N.S., and by two nephews, Robert Hoyt of Saint John, and Russell Waycott of Pictou, N.S. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her twelve grandchildren: Jean-Jacques and Daniel Cadieux, David and Adam Spinney, Melanie Loveridge, Jennifer Brewer, Matthew, Jeremy, and Christy Thompson, Jeffrey, Tim and Michael Barrett, and her fourteen great grandchildren: Theoren, Noel, Lindsay, Jenna, Janie, Jolee, Marlee-Rae, Ben, Melia, Hudson, James, Lillian, Vyonae and Eldyn. Marguerite was a quiet and gentle lady. She was very proud of her little home and was content with the things life offered her. Her greatest joy was her family, and she was especially happy when they visited and she could prepare them a meal. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion, was seldom in a hurry, and was very patient in everything she did. Her faith was strong and helped her through all the struggles in her life, and to accept those things she could not change. She was ever grateful for all her blessings and never one to complain. She was someone to admire for all her kindness, family dedication and love of God - a very special lady whom we were proud to call mother.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.
