FRANCIS, Cpl. RONALD JOSEPH - The sudden and unexpected death of Cpl. Ronald J. Francis of Kingsclear First Nation passed away on October 6, 2014 at the age of 43. Born in Ottawa ON, he was the son of Robert and Pauline (Madore) Francis. Ron was a proud, loving and caring son, father, brother and friend. He was compassionate, very creative, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, he was well respected by his fellow coworkers. Ron graduated from Depot on April 17, 1994 and spent 22 courageous years with the RCMP. He was a role model to his children and to many members of his community. He will be deeply missed by his children; Jacob Francis, Emma Francis, Alex Thompson and Kristen Thompson, one brother; Allan Francis, one sister; Lisa Marie Francis, companion; Trinda Paul, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother; Darren James Francis, paternal grandparents Gregory and Margaret Helena Francis, maternal grandfather Yvon Joseph Madore.

The sudden and unexpected death of Cpl. Ronald J. Francis of Kingsclear First Nation passed away on October 6, 2014 at the age of 43. Born in Ottawa ON, he was the son of Robert and Pauline (Madore) Francis. In addition to his Kingsclear First Nation family, Ronald “Albert” will be greatly missed by his wife; Lisa Cochrane Francis, and is survived by his children, Jacob Lawrence (9), Emma Marie (12), Kristen Aline (18) and Robert Alexander (20). He is also survived by his parents-in-law Lawrence (Larry) (Ret.S/Sgt) and Jeannine Cochrane; his brother-in-Law Steven (Jenny) Cochrane and his nephew Patrick. “Albert” will also be sadly missed by numerous extended family and friends. In addition to being a proud father, “Albert” was a proud and decorated long-serving member of the RCMP and was equally proud of his Maliseet Heritage. He was a strong, loyal and an admired role model to many members of his family and community. Albert had a great passion for the outdoors. Fall was his favorite time of the year and he loved to hunt with the boys. Albert had the strength and conviction to stand up for what he believed to be true, which is why he is considered to be a true brother, son, father, nephew and uncle to many people, not just his immediate family.

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Thursday October 9, 2014 from 5 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday October 10 at 11 AM from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Monte Peters and Curtis Sappier officiating. At the request of the family, Interment to follow in the Ste. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Kingsclear First Nation. At the request of the family Red Surge will only be worn by Corporal Ron Francis and no other member of the RCMP during the memorial service. A reception will be held in his home community at the Kingsclear Training Center at 1 PM. In Ron’s Memory donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (PTSD).
