Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family on October 8, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by his parents: Donald and Isabelle (nee Collins); sister Doris Johnston; brothers-in-law Earl Wicks and Russell Oliver. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Natalie (nee Wicks); sons: Chris (Connie), Karl, Craig (Heather), Kent (Kathi); grandchildren Rebecca, David, Thomas, Nathan, Kierstyn, Michelle and step grandchildren Tiffany, Whitney and Tristan; brother Austin (Marg); sisters: Linda (Eg), Judy (Paul), Joy (Jim); brother-in-law Brian Johnston; sister-in-law Madeline Smith; special aunt Marjorie and special nephew John Wicks, who was like a son to him. Calvin was a very proud retired Sgt. of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and co-Founder and long-time president of the RNC Veterans Association. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Health Science Complex, ICU for the care and compassion they showed during his final days. In Lieu of flowers donations in Calvin's memory may be made to the Vera Perlin Society. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and Friday, October 10, 2014 from 9am-12noon and 2-4pm. Funeral Service will be held at Wesley United Church on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00am with interment to follow at Mt.Pleasant Cemetery.
