It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Gatha. Gatha passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 14, 2014.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Isabel (Gouthro) Madden. Gatha attended St. Agnes High School and was a member of their championship women's basketball team. She later worked at the Quality Store in New Waterford. Moving to Montreal in 1959.
Gatha is survived by her husband, William and sons, Michael (Anne Marie), Gary of Montreal and daughter, Donna (Gordie), London; grandchildren, Kelly Joseph, Owen and Spencer; brothers, Michael (Gloria) and Elmer, both of New Waterford; sisters, Verna (Howard), Barrie, Ont., Yvonne, U.S.A.; Ellie, Dartmouth, Lila, Sydney and Joan, New Waterford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Patricia 'Baba'.
Funeral service will take place Saturday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. in St. John the Divine Church, London, Ont.
