Louise Catherine Beaton
With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Louise Catherine Beaton, age 88, lifelong resident of Leitches Creek, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Leitches Creek, Louise was the daughter of the late Samuel and Phoebe (Bartlett) Johnson.
She was a faithful member of St. Columba United Church, Leitches Creek, the UCW and also the church choir. She loved music and playing the keyboard, reading and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all spending time with her family.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Andy) Feetham, Lake Charlotte, N.S. and Virginia (Peter) Donovan, Leitches Creek; her four grandchildren, Amy and Fern Donovan, Amanda and Amber Beaton and also her five great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Geraldine (Beaton) Walker, sister-in-law Clara Beaton and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Murray Beaton, her son Leslie Beaton, her sisters, Jean Clifford and Marion Johnson and a brother Freddie Johnson.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service for Louise will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Columba United Church, Leitches Creek with Rev. Tom Whent officiating. Burial to follow in Calvin United Church Cemetery, Upper Leitches Creek.
