Sister Cecelia Philpott (formerly Sister Mary Ellenita) Passed peacefully away at Presentation Convent, Cathedral Square, St. John's on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her parents Ellen and James Philpott, her sisters Josephine (Bernard) Hedderson; Julia (Patrick) Philpott; Frances (Tom) Bartlett; her brothers, James (Sadie); Joseph (Harriett). Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are: her sisters, Sister Mary Rosarii and Henrietta (Robert (dec.) Philpott; her sister-in-law Kathleen (Sutton) Philpott; the Presentation Sisters; devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sister Cecelia is resting at Presentation Motherhouse, Cathedral Square, St. John's. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 15th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.; Thursday, October 16th from 10:00 - 12:00; 2:00 - 4:00, and 7:00 - 9:00, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Friday, October 17th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Presentation Cemetery, Cathedral Square.
