LÉGER, LAURENCE - Laurence Léger, 96, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the Villa Providence in Shédiac. Born on May 21, 1918 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Lizzi-Anne (Picard) Girouard. She is survived by two children: Paulette Léger ("Bill" Hildreth) of Halifax, NS, and Paul-Eugène (Gisèle) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; four grandchildren: Michel, Natalie, André and Chantal; five great-grandchildren: Sasha, Mia, Makisha, Karel and Maila; several nieces and nephews. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Léger (1984); four sisters: Donalda O’Connor, Fernande LeBlanc, Gilberte Murray and Lucille Lynett, and one brother, Paul.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Friday from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am until time of funeral. A reception will follow at the funeral centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
