April 26, 1925 - October 15, 2014. Passed peacefully away at Placentia Health Centre on October 15, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, Gerard Majella McFarlane of Freshwater, formerly of Port Royal, Placentia Bay, age 89. Predeceased by parents Henry and Lucy and his precious daughter Donna; also his brothers Phonse, Anthony and Henry; and sisters Mary (Mame) Lewis, and Lucy Whiffen. Leaving with cherished and loving memories: his wife Jennie of 67 years; three sons Brendan (Ceceila), Henry and Bill (Eleanor); four daughters Phyllis (John), Bernadette (Andrew), Anita (Gerry) and Wanda (Maurice); as well as his 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren whom he adored. Also leaving a very dear to his heart sister, Annie Hann, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, with visitation on Thursday from 7pm to 9pm, and Friday from 10am to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater on Saturday, October 18th at 11am. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia.
