Wallace 'Wally' McPherson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at the Harboustone Enhanced Care Facility.
Born in North Sydney, he was the youngest son of the late William and Olive (Ratchford) McPherson.
He resided at the former C.B. Hospital, for most of his life and in late years he was at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, MacDougall Court.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Henry and sister, Helen 'Jean' Mortensen.
Uncle Wally is survived by his brother-in-law, Joesph Mortensen; sister-in-law, Leone McPherson; nieces, Kathleen 'Kathy' (Cletus) Fleet, Coxheath, Helen Chaulk (Stewart), Mill Creek, Vonnie Jessome, Ontario; nephew, Michael Mortensen, Toronto. He is also survived by his grandnieces and nephews, Laura Chaulk, (Mike), Bras d'Or, Leigh Thurbide (Brian), Truro, Jenna Pardy (Neil), Truro, Stewart Jr. Chaulk, Truro, Aaron Chaulk, Mill Creek, Stephen Fleet (Carole), Lloydminister, Alberta, Tracey Fleet, Sydney, Lisa Jessome and Joshua Jessome, Edmonton, Alberta, Demetrius Best, Dominion.
The family would like to thank the staff of Harbourstone for their loving care over the past several years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
