It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blair Wadden on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Harry and Helen (Wujcik) Wadden.
Blair was employed as an electrician for many years and was also a retired member of the Glace Bay Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch his favorite teams, the Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Blair is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra ‘Sandy’ (Kelly) Wadden; two daughters, Michelle (Jamie MacDonald), Trina (Allie Weyman) and his son, David (Courtney). He will be sadly missed by his two precious grandsons, Ty and Owen Weyman; brothers, Stanley (Cathy), Fredericton, N.B., Joe, Sarnia, Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Vernon Reid is Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Glace Bay with a reception to follow immediately. Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery.
Donations in Blair’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Cape Breton Palliative Care or a charity of one’s choice.
