REID, C. DOUGLAS - C. Douglas Reid, 79, of Monarch Hall and formerly of Riverview, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Cecil and Jennie (Wilson) Reid. Douglas was a retired General Manager of the Air Traffic Control Centre in Riverview and worked for the United Nations in Saudia Arabia. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Riverview and was involved in several community clubs. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, bridge and curling. He played many sports and especially loved his Patriots and Red Sox. Douglas will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosanna (Collette) Reid; children, Wendy Publicover (David) and Brian, both of Riverview and Bruce (Elizabeth) of Bedford, NS; cherished grandchildren, Neil and Lyle Reid, Jack and Laura Publicover; sister, Marie McGrath (Douglas) of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Flora McBeath.
No visitation hours by personal request. Celebration of Life Service for Douglas will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 1:30pm, with Rev. Dr. Andy O’Neill officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton.
