October 12, 1935 - October 16, 2014. Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Dave Gulliver (Gulliver Cabs) age 79 years. Predeceased by his parents: Mother Alice Young, father Pearce Gulliver (Dora Boone, deceased) and brother Errol Gulliver (Shirley, deceased). Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 13 years Linda; sons Paul (Brenda), Perry (Ros), Peter (Andrea) and Pearce (Sharon); daughter Sherry (Paul) and their mother Edith French; sister Barbara Race (Norm) WIS, USA; brothers Fred Gulliver (Barbara), Kevin Gulliver (Barb) St. John's, Pearce Gulliver (Gully) (Sharon) New Brunswick; 7 grandchildren David, Krista, Karla, Joshua, Jessica, Kayla and Holly; 1 great granddaughter Alicia; 1 stepdaughter Carla Rose-Pella (Derek) Montreal; sisters-in-law Michelle Evans (Philip) and Bonnie Kormansek (Roman); brother-in-law Paul Noseworthy; nieces and nephews Breanne, Mandi, Janelle and David. Special friends Bob and Pauline Tobin, Aunt Jean and Uncle Rach, Hubert Bourne and Don Morrissey and a large circle of family and friends. Also would like to mention a special thank you to the staff on 1 South East PCU at the St. John's Long term Care Facility. Dave was a hardworking man with a great heart. He was an avid golfer who loved to golf with his sons Peter and Paul, wife Linda and granddaughter Jess. He was an avid fundraiser, spokesperson and ambassador. Dave was a lifetime member of the St. John's Lions Club and Knights of Columbus. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, TORBAY on Sunday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 10 a.m from St. Michael's Church, Flatrock. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Agnes Cemetery, Pouch Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made to St. John's Long Term Care Unit 1 South East PCU or to the Alzheimer's Association of St. John's.
