GAUTREAU, ROBERT JOSEPH - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Robert “Bob” Joseph Gautreau who passed peacefully at home on October 23, 2014. Born on January 4, 1948, he was the son of the late William and Kathleen (Maston) Gautreau. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lea (Legere) Gautreau; two children, Melanie (Chris Miles) and Daniel (Siobhan MacDonald) and by his cherished granddaughters, Gillian and Ellie Miles, all of Fredericton. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by siblings, Doreen Belleville (John), Paulette Poirier (Guy), Pauline Tibbs (Doug), Donna LeBlanc (Aurele), Eric Gautreau, Joan DiCarlo (Richard), Roger Melanson (Denise), Diane Landry (Dave), Bernice Cormier (Arthur), Denise Ouellet (Emery), Gary Gallant (Debbie), Joanne Braydon (Mark), Karen Wilson (Kevin), Paul Gallant (Susan) and Roger Gallant; many nieces and nephews as well as Lea's siblings, Laurie Legere (MaryAnn), Yvonne Legere and Stella Legere. Bob is also survived by the wife of the late Léonide Gallant, Rita Gallant. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Kathleen Gautreau, Léonide Gallant, Régina Melanson and siblings, André Melanson and Marielle Melanson. Special thanks to Denise Legere for the utmost care and support provided in these last few weeks.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Monday October 27th at 12:05 pm, with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place at the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
