BOURQUE, JEAN-BERNARD “BANANE - 1944-2014 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean-Bernard "Banane" Bourque on Thursday October 23, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Shediac on May 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Armand and Auréa (Boudreau) Bourque. He worked for Kraft Foods Ltd. until his retirement in 1999. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeannette; one son, Kenny (Lisa Gri) of Shediac; one daughter, Ginette (David Gabel) of Shediac; three siblings: Aquila (Gail Foster) of Point-du-Chêne, Linda LeBlanc (Normand) of Dieppe and Huberte Landry (Michel) of Moncton; four grandchildren: Danika, Kimberly, Julie and Geena; one great-grandson, Jason, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Léonce (2001).
The family will receive condolences at 396, Main Street, Shediac, on Monday October 27, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure (10:20 a.m.). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Shediac on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Internment will be in the Frenette Funeral Centre Columbarium, Shediac. In memory of Jean-Bernard, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
