Lynn Elizabeth McAloney

Lynn Elizabeth McAloney passed away at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on October 21, 2014 with her family supporting her. Our Mum was born in River Hebert to Howard and Helen (Landells) McAloney on October 26th, 1950.
Our Mum lived her entire life putting others before herself, even near the end she lived strong, always finding the best in others. Our Mum enjoyed the simple pleasures of life with her family, from gardening to decorating the inside and out for all holidays. Our Mum was a devoted daughter, beloved sister, niece, grandmother and aunt. She loved her entire family unconditionally and was there for all no matter what. She fought her disease with tremendous strength and courage from the beginning in December 2011. Her positive attitude along with her determination to be there for her family was a source of inspiration and hope to all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her father Howard U. McAloney. She is survived by her mother, Helen B.McAloney, River Hebert; daughter, Janice Mills, Joggins; Son, Greg (Aimee) Mills, Oakfield, NS; grandchildren, Zach, Olivia, Eric and Ben; brothers, Keith (Sandy) McAloney, Amherst; Tom (Brenda) McAloney, Dartmouth; Uncles, Bill (Norma) McAloney, River Hebert; Harold (Barb) McAloney, Amherst; an aunt who was thought more as a sister, Edith (Arnold) Raymond, Kingston, ON; four nieces and their families; lifelong friend, Debbie (Richards) Murphy, Liverpool, England.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) from where visiting hours will take place 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2014 with a funeral service from the funeral home on Sunday at 2 pm. Burial to follow in the Lower River Hebert Cemetery.
At Mum’s request, no flowers please. She would much rather donations be made to Cumberland VON, Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Palliative Care, Lower River Hebert Cemetery, or Cumberland Cancer Assistance.
