Gary Gordon Stewart, BSc. Geology, was born on February 22, 1953 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island to Herbert Stewart and Rose O'Connell. He was the youngest of eight children.
Gary was the loving husband of Sheran; patient father of Andrew (Caroline Buzanko) and Christopher (Maria Bertucci); doting grandfather of Maya, Willow and Thomas; and proud godfather to Rob and Scott Stewart and Andrew MacEachern.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Coyle; half-sister, Betty Gibara; brothers, Elmer (Victoria), John (Patricia), Everett (Bernadine) and Jimmy (Elaine); brothers and sisters-in-law, Arlene and Dave MacEachern, Walter Myers, Leonard and Margaret Myers, Blair and Shirley Myers, Merrill and Terri Myers, Al and Sandra Myers, Helen Jackson, Murial McGrath, Martin and Doreen Myers; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and mother; his step-brother, John O'Connell; sister-in-law, Lillian Weir; and brothers-in-law, Armour Weir, Heath McGrath and Harold Jackson.
His quiet manner and big laugh created friends wherever he went, their numbers too many to list, and his passing has left holes all around the world.
Gary is remembered as a past member of the Association of Engineers, Geologists, and Geo-physicists (APEGGA) of Alberta, Association of Professional Engineers and Geo-scientists (APEG) BC, Masonic Lodge of Canada.
A memorial service is planned for the weekend of November 8th. Details to follow.
