Charles William  Comeau

Charles William Comeau, age 83 of Amherst, Nova Scotia passed away October 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Saint John, N.B. he was the son of the late William and Flossie (Fillmore) Comeau. His lived in Nappan, Nova Scotia for the majority of his life moving to Amherst in 2006.
He retired from the Correctional Service of Canada in 1988 after a long and distinguished career. He was a leader of the 1st Nappan Cub Pack for a number of years. He was a member of the Men’s Club of Nativity of our Lady Parish as well as secretary of the Nativity-St Charles Cemetery Committee. He was a devoted volunteer with the Amherst Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada acting as Treasurer for many years. After retirement he was a volunteer for Revenue Canada preparing tax returns for seniors. He was a devoted parishioner of both Nativity of Our Lady and Holy Family Roman Catholic parishes for his entire life.
Charles is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 62 years Pauline, children Theresa (Bob) Ellis, Gerald (Sandy) Comeau, of Amherst, Stephen (Sylvie) Comeau of Dartmouth, N.S., Paula (John) Carmont of Mount Pleasant, N.B. and Mary Comeau (Colin MacDonald) of Nappan, cherished grandchildren, Gillian and Daniel Ellis, Meagan, Kathleen, and Bradley Comeau, Matthew, Mitchell, Genna, and Patrick Morris, Isabelle Verret and Jessica Comeau, Nicholas and Lilly MacDonald and three great-grandchildren Parker Morris, Olivier Verret and Audrey Partridge, as well as many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Mildred and a brother Frank.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Family flowers only.
